Sleeping is essential for our bodies. Not only to avoid being grumpy all day, but it can help us with our overall health. According to the Sleep Foundation, your mattress plays a crucial role for a good night’s sleep. The problem is that most people think that this piece of furniture is designed to last forever. In this article, I will give you a few reasons why you might consider replacing your 10+ years old mattress

It is old

If your mattress has more than 10 years, then you should throw it right away. According to recent research, mattresses have a life span of about eight years, and this varies by manufacturer, mattress type, whether you sleep alone or with a partner, and how you sleep. Keep in mind that everything has an end, even your mattress.

You don’t like it

Common sense, right? Not really. Some people stick to their mattress even when it has got uncomfortable. If you sleep better at a hotel or a friend’s house, then its time to throw away your mattress.

You wake up with back pain

According to sleep help, If you wake up stiff and sore every day, your mattress could be part of the problem. If your back pain is worse when you wake but subsides when you stretch and move around, that’s a sign that the mattress is causing or contributing to your pain.

As I have exposed, changing your mattress might be a good idea. It might be a bit expensive at first but keep in mind that you expend about 1/3 of your life sleeping, so you better enjoy it!
